Kai has earned her BFA in Textiles and Experimental Fashion at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Her art practice seeks to discover how complexity can be created through repetition of technique or process. Kai is also interested in the material history of textile objects and hopes to apply the hand skills she has learned at MICA to an art conservation degree. Her interest in material culture has landed her two museum internships at the National Museum for African American History and Culture and further inspired her interest in the development of Black style.
